Body therapies

We often think that our bodies and minds are separate and function independently. At the same time, we understand that’s not the whole story. We know that our emotions can affect us physically. For example, we know that a scary experience gets our heart beating faster, but it can be harder to realize that loneliness, sadness or depression can also have a physical effect on our organs and physical health.

What can Body Therapy help me with?

There is an extraordinary two-way communication going on between body and mind and it can affect your physical state as well as your mental and emotional health.

So, whether you’re looking for general relaxation and wellbeing or want to address a specific complaint, body therapies can support your health and healing in many different ways, including:

  • Neck pain
  • Digestive problems
  • Stress and mood swings
  • IBS
  • Inflamation and Joints
  • hormonal changes
  • Arthritis
  • Headaches

Cranial Osteopathy

Cranial osteopathy is a gentle approach to the discipline. Through enabling people to find health and balance in their system, cranial osteopathy can reduce and eliminate pain, help people feel better, and enable them to manage the physical and mental stresses and strains of life more effectively.

It can help relieve a variety of muscle problems, joint and bone conditions, circulatory and digestion issues. The course of treatment can vary for each patient, but on average spans six sessions and your osteopath may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, and prevent symp-toms recurring.

Treatments consists of three parts – case history, physical assessment, treatment plan. What happens at an osteopathy appointment

Acupuncture

Although people have been benefiting from the practice of acupuncture for more than two thousand years, it is as relevant today as it has ever been and is recognised as being a highly effective way of treating many of modern life’s challenges, including stress, digestive problems, phobias and addictions.

It is based on ancient principles that view pain and illness as signs that the body is out of balance. The overall aim of acupuncture is therefore to restore the body’s equilibrium.
