Welcome to on route, your local wellbeing centre and meeting place offering a wide range of therapies and activities designed to support your mental, physical and social wellbeing.
At on route, we offer a range of therapies and activities that can help you to look after your mental and physical wellbeing in a way that works for you – from counselling, body therapies and activities like drama, gardening and mindfulness through to art exhibitions, talks and workshops.
Everyone faces their own challenges in different ways, but often a combination of approaches can offer the most valuable support. For some people, combining counselling with other therapies such as yoga, osteopathy or even arts-based creative activities can be exactly what they need.
Creating on route is something that has been on my mind for some time. As a psychotherapist, the idea of creating a centre where different aspects of wellbeing could interconnect seemed an obvious step. Different factors help us feel well and keep well, whether it’s “having a coffee”, visiting a life coach, doing a class that spark our interests, or simply being around other people. All these things can help empower us and play a part in helping us transform our lives.
I wanted to create an environment where looking after your mental health and wellbeing felt as natural as cleaning your teeth every day – and where mental health and related issues could be questioned, discussed and challenged.
The aim of on route is not only to provide a holistic approach, but also to make it as affordable and accessible as possible. For this to happen, I have been talking to businesses who are interested in supporting our work – to help us provide a local, low-cost service for people.
It was a big idea… but in 2017 I started to put my plans into action and as mental health became an increasingly important topic, on route began to feel real, achievable and necessary.
At its heart, on route is a counselling and wellbeing centre as well as a friendly café and an active social hub. It offers a wide range of therapies and activities that are there to support you, in whatever combination suits you, whether your life is going to plan or not.
Welcome to on route.

Donna is a local artist whose mission is to make art that fosters self-love and compassion. She unites disparate features of shabby urban environments to create work that is singular and striking. Her hope is that her collectors become more accepting of their own flaws as they consider the virtues of imperfection.
